Chapter 496

Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 496

Bonnie stormed into the kitchen, ready to demand answers. Lawrence smirked, anticipating her outburst. “My presents are in the master bedroom,” he said smoothly.

The words caught in her throat. Realizing she had wrongly accused him, she wrapped her arms around his waist from behind and rubbed her cheek against his back.

Lawrence scoffed softly. “If I hadn’t said anything, a certain someone would be screaming at me right now.”

“Not true. I never yell,” she retorted. She slipped around to the front, stood on her tiptoes, and planted a quick kiss on his chin. Before he could react and kiss her back, she ducked and bolted away.

She hurried to the master bedroom and froze the moment she walked in.

The king-sized bed was covered in gift boxes of all shapes and sizes.

She pointed her finger and counted them out. Exactly nineteen boxes.

A thought suddenly struck her. Was he trying to make up for all the birthdays he had missed?

She walked over, sat on the edge of the mattress, and picked up the first box within reach. Sure enough, there was a handwritten note attached.

*Happy first birthday, Bonnie.*

His handwriting was bold and elegant, with a touch of free-spirited flair. Her eyes curved into a smile as she traced the letters with her fingertips.

She must have casually mentioned it to him before—how much she envied Helen and Ned’s childhood bond, how they had spent almost every birthday and major holiday together since they were kids.

If only she had met Lawrence sooner.

He had kept that in mind and found his own way to make up for every birthday he had missed.

Bonnie felt a lump form in her throat. It didn’t matter what the gifts actually were; the thought and effort behind them made her heart swell.

She unwrapped the one for her first birthday. Inside was a tiny gold pendant in the shape of her zodiac sign—a cute, smiling little mouse hugging a gold ingot.

Reading it out loud would be too utterly cheesy to bear.

Seeing his refusal, she resorted to throwing a playful tantrum, but her usual tactics failed. He absolutely wouldn’t budge. Instead, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her out to eat.

Bonnie didn’t give up. Yet, even after dinner, cutting the cake, and a brief snowball fight downstairs, he still refused to cave.

While he was in the shower, she slipped out of the master bedroom and into the guest room where he slept, hiding under his covers to wait for him.

Unsuspecting, Lawrence stepped out of the bathroom wearing only a towel wrapped low around his waist. His upper body was sculpted with lean, hard muscle. Water dripped from his damp hair, tracing a path down his broad chest and rippling abs before disappearing beneath the terry cloth.

Bonnie pulled back the duvet just enough to peek, her wide eyes taking in the entire sight.

When he turned around and spotted her, he froze. For a moment, the two of them just stared at each other in stunned silence.

["post-1164","chapter","type-chapter","status-publish","hentry
["GET
