Jeremy arrived earlier at the restaurant, waiting for Elena. He was so eager to meet her that he rushed out of the room to welcome her when the manager told him Elena was coming.<\/p>\n
\u201cFinally, Elena!\u201d He smiled and felt relived.<\/p>\n
Elena sat down and smiled, too. \u201cOur colleague interviewed Emma instead of you and I thought you didn\u2019t want to accept our interview. But how came you changed your mind and called me?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEmma accepted the interview?\u201d He said confusedly.<\/p>\n
She nodded and took out the interview draft, \u201cSee? We are ready to print it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jeremy gave a glance at it and felt angry about every word from Emma. What was she doing? She sent himself away when Elena interviewed him. And then she even accepted the interview, knowing he refused it. What on earth did she want?<\/p>\n
Elena took the draft back and asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s wrong? You don\u2019t look well.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing.\u201d He wore the smile quickly, \u201cJust a little confused. Now that I accept your interview, you don\u2019t have to print Emma\u2019s anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elena started her interview right away. While Jeremy didn\u2019t want to spend too much time on business and answered all her questions quickly. After finishing the interview, he asked the waitress to serve the dishes.<\/p>\n
He said to Elena, \u201cThey are all your favourite. I ordered them for you especially.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you.\u201d Elena just showed her good manner, not her gratefulness. She didn\u2019t hurry to eat the food, but sipped her drink.<\/p>\n
He put the dessert near her. \u201cI remember you love this. You and Emma used to fight for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
She laughed perfunctorily and lowered her head, playing with her phone. When Jeremy didn\u2019t notice, she took a picture of him and sent it to Emma. When she finished and looked up, Jeremy was looking at her, \u201cYou are so slim and should eat more.\u201d<\/p>\n
For one moment, she thought Jeremy knew what she was doing and got startled. But the next second, she calmed down and said, \u201cJeremy, thank you for accepting the interview. Or my boss will think I am a trouble-maker and fire me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDid Emma slander you?\u201d He frowned. He remembered Aria mentioned this last time, but he didn\u2019t know what happened exactly.<\/p>\n
Elena denied it at once, \u201cNo! Come on, don\u2019t over-think. Emma did nothing to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Jeremy already knew Emma very well. She must have done something. He got angry and his fists clenched. \u201cNothing? She said I was cheating on her and asked a detective to investigate me! Remember what happened in the hotel? She is insane!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTake it easy, Jeremy…\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cElena, you know I always love you. I marry Emma just for your sake. I just want to make your happy, but now…\u201d<\/p>\n
His eyes were filled with sorrow and misery. He couldn\u2019t help thinking about her all the time. But every time he woke up in the late night, the one who slept beside him was Emma.<\/p>\n
\u201cJeremy…\u201d Elena avoided him when he reached out to hold her hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cElena, can we get together again? I can divorce Emma, and you divorce Logan. I will take good care of you. Let\u2019s forget the past and move on, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n

Emma was nervous and tried to explain to Jeremy, \u201cIt\u2019s not what you think, Jeremy. I don\u2019t know what she was talking about. And these photos have nothing to do with me!\u201d<\/p>\n
But he was too furious to accept her explanation. He smashed the phone on the ground and growled, \u201cEmma, I can forgive you when you asked somebody to investigate me in secret. But Elena is you sister, how can you hurt her with other people!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cJeremy, no, I didn\u2019t do it! Believe me please!\u201d She held his hand so tightly and turned to Elena, \u201cTell him! Explain it! I didn\u2019t do it and the photos have nothing to do with me!\u201d<\/p>\n
But Elena refused to explain for her, \u201cWhat can I say? The photos were found in your phone!<\/p>\n
Can you imagine how they tortured me! I almost died and stayed in the hospital for two days! You can check my record in the hospital, it\u2019s true!\u201d<\/p>\n
The more she said, the paler Jeremy\u2019s face turned. And Emma couldn\u2019t speak for herself anymore. She was hopeless.<\/p>\n

Eventually, she left the restaurant and got the interview she wanted. What was more, she provoked a war between them successfully. All these cheered her up. She looked at the eyedrops used as tears in her bag, smiling cunningly.<\/p>\n
Wow, tears were such a good strategy to inspire man\u2019s protectiveness.<\/p>\n
Emma used to make good use of her tears when she made mistakes, so their father would put all blame on Elena. Now Elena realized how silly she was to tolerate Emma quietly all the time!
