Stella looked up to see Jarrod standing there, his expression grim.<\/p>\n
Just as she suspected, being busy was only an excuse. He would never miss a chance to take his sweetheart shopping.<\/p>\n
If she had known she was going to run into them, she never would have come here!<\/p>\n
“Jarrod!”<\/p>\n
The moment Serena saw Jarrod, she burst into tears, pointing directly at Stella. “She bullied me…”<\/p>\n
Jarrod’s gaze shifted to Stella, whose face was completely unreadable. “What happened?”<\/p>\n
One was his cousin, and the other was the woman he loved.<\/p>\n
Whatever she said would just be treated as excuses.<\/p>\n
The situation was humiliating enough, and Stella had no desire to degrade herself further. “Exactly what it looks like.”<\/p>\n
With that, she took her scarf and walked straight out of the store.<\/p>\n
Jarrod wanted to go after her and ask a few more questions, but Chloe called out from behind, “Jarrod, Serena sprained her ankle! Come help me get her up!”<\/p>\n
Jarrod turned around. The scene was a total mess, with merchandise scattered all over the floor.<\/p>\n
Chloe was struggling to hold up a limping Serena.<\/p>\n
Jarrod called his assistant, ordering him to come over and handle the damages to the store.<\/p>\n
He then took Serena from Chloe’s hold, supporting her weight.<\/p>\n
Serena was still crying and cursing Stella, but Jarrod, irritated by the noise, told her to shut up. He then turned to Chloe. “Chloe, what exactly happened?”<\/p>\n
Chloe quickly recounted the encounter with Stella.<\/p>\n
“Jarrod, Serena had a bad attitude, but Stella isn’t as nice as she looks! She shoved Serena so fast I couldn’t even react!”<\/p>\n
Chloe patted her chest as if genuinely frightened. “Her eyes looked terrifying! Do you think she snapped at Serena because you made her work overtime on that meeting agenda?”<\/p>\n
Jarrod said nothing.<\/p>\n
He had read through the agenda. It was incredibly detailed, highly organized, and clearly took a massive amount of time and energy to put together.<\/p>\n
Working hard into the weekend, only to get harassed by Serena\u2014it made sense she was angry.<\/p>\n
