Stella paused for a split second, her instinct screaming to turn around and avoid the drama, but she accidentally locked eyes with Seraphina.<\/p>\n
Seraphina merely threw her a dismissive glance before turning away, seamlessly continuing her conversation as if she had just looked at an empty space.<\/p>\n
Stella’s lips twitched slightly. She kept walking, focusing on finding Jasper.<\/p>\n
In the free-riding enclosure, a few people were galloping across the field. Stella narrowed her eyes and quickly spotted Jasper among them.<\/p>\n
She waved her arms frantically at the fence. Spotting her, Jasper nudged his horse and trotted over.<\/p>\n
“Stella, what are you doing here?” Jasper looked genuinely surprised.<\/p>\n
Stella leaned against the railing. “Your mom is worried sick. She asked me to take you home.”<\/p>\n
Jasper immediately balked, whining that he hadn’t had nearly enough fun yet and absolutely refused to leave.<\/p>\n
Stella pulled out her phone. “Then you call her and tell her yourself.”<\/p>\n
“No way. Besides, it’s not like you guys can catch me!”<\/p>\n
Jasper shot her a wicked grin, clicked his tongue at the horse, and took off across the field again.<\/p>\n
Obviously, Stella couldn’t exactly chase down a galloping horse. She texted Eleanor to reassure her that Jasper was safe for now.<\/p>\n
Knowing Jasper was far too hyped up to leave anytime soon, Stella found a quiet bench by the fence to sit and rest.<\/p>\n
