Chapter 136

He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 136

As it turned out, Stella’s surprise was premature. While Jarrod didn’t look openly displeased with the food, he took exactly one bite and didn’t touch his silverware again.

The coworkers had already knocked back quite a few drinks. Since Jarrod was acting surprisingly approachable, they loosened up and started thanking him profusely for the laptops he had gifted them earlier.

Jarrod shot Stella a look. “Your team leader specifically came to me, praising how hard you all worked and requesting a reward.”

The team immediately showered Stella with gratitude.

Stella was stunned. Hadn’t Jarrod given out the laptops because Chloe suggested it?

They stayed for another fifteen minutes before Stella noticed the deep exhaustion in Jarrod’s eyes. She took the initiative to say their goodbyes.

The team was more than happy to oblige, smiling and waving them off.

As Stella and Jarrod walked to the curb, envious stares followed her from all directions.

Stella was gorgeous enough to turn heads on a normal day, but next to Jarrod, she was entirely overshadowed. Not only did he possess striking looks, but he also exuded an innate, aristocratic aura that was impossible to ignore.

Once they got in the car, Jarrod glanced at her. “Were you unhappy with the laptops?”

Stella was baffled. “When did I ever say that?”

“They all managed to find a moment to thank me. Why haven’t I heard a single word of gratitude from you?”

Stella paused. “…I thought you gave them out because Director Huxley suggested it.”

“Who told you I did it for her?”

Jarrod practically gritted his teeth. “Stella, would it have killed you to just ask me?”

Stella had plenty of questions she wanted to ask, but since Jarrod was driving, now was clearly not the right time.

Soon, Jarrod pulled up to The Sterling Residences.

Considering how he had abruptly left the last time, Stella couldn’t quite read his intentions. “Are you coming inside?” she asked carefully.

["post-3424","chapter","type-chapter","status-publish","hentry
["GET
