Seeing this, Arthur tactfully closed the file and retreated from the office, thoughtfully pulling the door shut behind him.<\/p>\n
“Tomorrow is the final day of the thirty-day cooling-off period. Are you free in the morning or the afternoon?” Stella asked.<\/p>\n
Jarrod gripped his pen, a dark storm brewing in his eyes as his knuckles turned white from the sheer force.<\/p>\n
He held back for a few seconds but ultimately lost the battle. Slapping the pen down, he scoffed coldly, “You have a great memory. You must have been counting down the days!”<\/p>\n
Stella paused for a moment before saying calmly, “Morning, then. I’ll wait for you at the Royal Oaks Marriage Registry at ten.”<\/p>\n
With that, she ended the call.<\/p>\n
Staring at the disconnected screen, Jarrod gritted his teeth and dialed Julian Jenson’s number. “Where are you? Get over to the Fuller Group right now!”<\/p>\n
Hearing the furious edge in Jarrod’s voice, Julian assumed there was an emergency. “Okay, I’ll be right there!”<\/p>\n
When Julian rushed frantically into the office, he found Jarrod sitting in his executive chair, calmly reviewing documents.<\/p>\n
Aside from a slightly grim expression, he looked completely normal.<\/p>\n
“Jarrod, why the rush? What’s going on?” Julian asked.<\/p>\n
Jarrod motioned for him to take a seat, only moving to the sofa himself after he finished signing the paperwork in front of him.<\/p>\n
A secretary brought in coffee and a fruit platter. Julian tossed a piece of fruit into his mouth, chewing as he watched his silent friend.<\/p>\n
“This is about Stella, isn’t it?”<\/p>\n
Julian knew absolutely nothing about business, so Jarrod would never consult him on that.<\/p>\n
And Jarrod certainly wasn’t interested in partying.<\/p>\n
