Chapter 165

Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 165

Her arms and legs were long and graceful, every move she made carried this quiet strength, almost like a swan gliding across the water. When Bonnie was a kid, she’d tried out dance classes. It was just a hobby, nothing serious, and after a couple years, school took over. She never had the knack for it anyway.

Back then, when someone complimented Hannah, Lawrence would always beam. “Of course she’s good. And she works hard, too. Next time she has a show, I’ll take you,” he’d say, almost proud. Bonnie never imagined the three of them would end up like this.

She was about to leave when another girl stopped next to her. “Hey, are you a fan of Hannah, too? Did you get tickets? This comeback is wild, the prices from scalpers are insane and I still missed out…” The girl trailed off as Bonnie shook her head and walked off without another word.

Once she got on the subway, Bonnie opened her social media. Maybe it was because she’d searched Hannah’s name before, or maybe that fan was right and the hype really was everywhere. Either way, Hannah’s new update was at the top of her feed. She clicked in. There was a glitzy poster, some rehearsal shots—her feed buzzing.

In the comments, people were excited. Bonnie spotted a reply from Hannah herself: After the show, I’ll have some good news for everyone. She didn’t care what that meant, so she scrolled on. None of the comments touched on Hannah’s personal life, just lots of love and good vibes. Bonnie backed out.

Every time she refreshed, posts about the performance popped up. With a sigh, Bonnie closed the app, just as a message popped up from Helen—she’d sent a photo snapped at the mall of Hannah’s event poster.

Look what I found. She’s dancing ballet and publicizing it everywhere, as if we’d forget she can do this stuff.

We walked past her posters all the way from dinner to the movie. She’s even trending online. Bet she spent tons to buy all this hype.

Well, I guess that’s what happens when you’re not famous anymore.

Bonnie read the texts and could see exactly how Helen would roll her eyes. She replied, I’m not interested in her. Are you free tomorrow? I want to go shopping.

The ember burned down to his skin. He looked up at the winter sky, the moon glowing white, Orion clear above the rooftops. It brought him back to that night when he and Bonnie had watched a meteor shower together.

That night, Bonnie had asked what he’d wished for. Lawrence said he wished she’d never leave him.

Bonnie had hugged him, her arms around his neck as she kissed him, laughing softly. “I don’t need Pollux or Castor’s approval. I get to decide this stuff myself.” Then she kissed him again, shy but totally bold, her promise caught between their lips.

While she gasped for breath, she whispered she’d stay with him, always, that she’d be his kite and he’d be her wind. They’d be together, forever.

Lawrence rubbed out the last bit of his cigarette. His eyes stung. He wasn’t sure who he could ask, who he could beg, who even had the answer for whether a promise like that could ever really last.

["post-833","chapter","type-chapter","status-publish","hentry
["GET
